You may talk to your school advisors. They usually have suggestions for you, but then you will be fighting over with other students in your school. You can certainly research for yourself. Many companies actually post their internship openings in their career site. You can apply directly with the company.

On a related note, getting an internship has many ups to kickstarting your career as well. Having a good relationship with the company may be just what to need to get the first job offer from this same company. Also, if you work at a big name company, this internship will look terrific on your resume and put you ahead of other fresh graduates.

I've successfully placed a fresh graduate in one of the top engineering firm in his area because he has been involved in an internship program with this other engineering firm since junior year. The list of skills and abilities he was able to add to his resume really help propel himself right into his first job.
