  • Revisions on dissertation proposal?

Met with my advisory committee last week and I was requested to revise my dissertation proposal again. This is the 3rd revision. Some of the feedbacks from the committee were vague and general which makes it hard to revise.

How many revisions have people gone through?

It varies. I would suggest to talk with the individual committee members to clarify their feedbacks and take the opportunity to clarify yourself as well. The first thing is to get your major advisor's approval on your research proposal. Before the next committee meeting, make sure to talk with all committee members individually and get their feedbacks individually so that you will have an idea about what they are going to say.

Good communication and patience are needed during this stage.
