- Question about recommendation letters for a different graduate program
I am a graduate student in Higher Education and would like to apply for a different graudate program to change gears -:)
I do have recommendation letters from my current professors in Higher Education. Do I have to get a recommendation letter from someone in my new program?

It will be very helpful if you can get a letter from a faculty member in the new program. But I think your current professor's letter can be used anyways. The more important is your qualifications and capability to the graduate level, and the compelling reasons why you are changing gears. That would be important to your successful admission and careers after the graduate school.

If you have a job and attending grad school at the same time, you can always obtain a recommendation letter from your boss. Although i agree that getting a recom. letter from your previous program is also beneficial.
