For those of you who have been teaching courses online, could you please provide suggestions and tips for online course teaching.
Your suggestions can be useful to new faculty members who are preparing the online course teaching.

Talk to the instructors in your department and school who have been offering online courses to learn about how to get things started.
Learn the online teaching tools such as WebCT or Blackboard used in your school. There are a lot of resources for the tutorials on how to use the software.
Your school should have a supporting department such as Distance Learning Department to provide the online course support.
Set your goal and be prepared that the online course may take a lot of your time in answering students' questions by emails. You will get used to that.
