You just have to be extremely careful about stuff online. Some are just out there to grab your personal information and turn around and sell your info to another person.

Someone once told me that an easy way to spot scammers is the way the website address look like. If you have a site that spells like like" www.faststudentloan or www.freetuition, etc...basically something that's too good to be true are probably not true.
