Can someone help with general and clear steps in solving the following two equations?

3 ( x - 5) = - 2 (x + 3) + 11
x = ?

6 (y - 2) - (y - 3) = 16
y =?

Answers ( 1 )

For equation 1:

3 ( x - 5) = - 2 (x + 3) + 11

Step 1:
Do the multiplication first on the both sides:

3x - 15 = -2x - 6 + 11

Step 2:
Move the items with "x" to the left side and move the items without "x" to the right side:

3x + 2x = 15 - 6 + 11

Step 3:
Add them up on the both sides:

5x = 20

Step 4:
Get the answer:

x = 20 / 5
x = 4

Same steps for the equation 2:

6 (y - 2) - (y - 3) = 16
6y - 12 - y + 3 = 16
6y - y = 16 + 12 - 3
5y = 25
y = 25 / 5
y = 5

Equations are solved.
